Your Greatest Obstacle To Happiness And Success

Most people are always looking for answers on how to attract more money, how to have better relationships, better careers, or how they can become more in tune with the Creator.

On the surface, when you hear these questions presented like this, it would seem that there must be a unique and separate answer for each question. That the same answer for, how to attract more money and how to have a better relationship, couldn’t be the same.

However, the root of life’s problems lie in one common theme, wanting it all to ourselves, the me first attitude! And, given the state of the world today and how things are presented to us by the media, this makes all the sense in the world. “The early bird gets the worm,” “If you don’t do it, nobody’s going to do it for you,” etc. The ego-driven competition to have more than the next person, is a never-ending challenge. Yet, all of these physical possessions are limited by their very nature and only represent what can only be considered a short-term fix or fleeting entertainment at best.

So, what drives us on to want these things, to expend more and more energy each and every day trying to acquire these things, knowing the quick high they generate will not last. And, that it is only a matter of time before we find ourselves chasing the next shinny object that catches our attention until we finally, completely exhaust ourselves.

In a word… ego!

Your ego drives you onward, instilling in you a feeling of lack and the emotional need to have more. The doubt and uncertainty that if I don’t get this now, there may not be any more left for me. It constantly whispers in your mind that there is only so much in the world, and when it’s gone, it’s gone and that’s it. So if you expect to get ahead,  you better wake up earlier, work latter, see less of your family, live with the stress, and make the doctor’s office your home away from, well… the office (remember you’re at the office more than home).

And yet, most people on Saturday or Sunday take the time to engage in some religious activity that promises that all of this is nothing more than illusion! And that the more you go after these things the less GOD-like you become, thus moving further away from the very source of all of the things you desire most.

So whassup with this, you ask?

Here’s the real short version. Your ego was included in the package called “you” at creation. It’s there so you have to constantly work toward lasting fulfillment- that being your personal relationship with the Light of The Creator. As long as you have an ego, you will always have to work at maintaining your connection with the Light of The Creator. Because every moment you let your guard down, ego will try to draw your attention away from the connection and on to it!

There is no such thing as sitting on the fence. You are either working toward the Light, or working toward moving away from the Light, and those are your only two choices!

And when you find yourself in the emotional depths of darkness and despair, what is the one thing you are begging for, the only thing that will rescue you from this bottomless pit. You got it. The Light!

So it’s your ego that keeps you in a constant state of movement, like a roller-coaster ride with highs and lows until you finally learn to temper it and put it in its place and keep your thoughts centered on the real important thing. That which will ultimately provide you with the results you desire most in life. the Light of The Creator, the source of all things!
